The Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity joined the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) and Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives (CNI) in opening the $25 million Rebuild Distressed Communities (RDC) grant program.
The program will reimburse the cost of or hire contractors to perform repairs for structural damages, including repairs to storefronts and entrances, improving electrical systems, and restoring exterior work for businesses that experienced property damage in economically distressed communities around Illinois.
