Speaker Series featuring Maria Bribriesco

Our aim for this series is to provide an opportunity for individuals and organizations to engage diverse residents and employees from multiple sectors in the Quad Cities region, broaden their networks, and enhance their awareness of diversity issues.

Maria Cano Bribriesco is an attorney licensed to practice law in Iowa.  She retired in 2011 after 27+ years from serving as a civilian attorney for the U.S. Army at the Rock Island Arsenal.  She was the Chief Counsel for the TACOM-Rock Island Legal Group for six years and retired at the highest grade service level (GS 15 equivalent) and served a stint as the Chief Counsel for TACOM in Warren, Michigan.

Maria graduated with a BA in Criminal Justice, Magna Cum Laude, from St. Edwards University, Austin, Texas.  She graduated from the University of Iowa, College of Law and passed the Iowa Bar in 1983.        

She has been active in the community serving on various boards and currently is the Deputy State Director for LULAC of Iowa and is the President of the local branch of the American Association of University Women.
