Job Description
Under the direction of the TRIO Program Director, the TRIO Success Coach will provide comprehensive academic and personal support services to TRIO project scholars. This role emphasizes social-emotional intelligence, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail. The TRIO Success Coach will work closely with a diverse student population, including first-generation, low-income, and students with disabilities. Individuals with lived experiences as first-generation college students, low-income college students, or students with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Required Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse student population, including first-generation, low-income, and students with disabilities.
• Strong social-emotional intelligence and the ability to build rapport with students from various backgrounds.
• Proven problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Experience in academic advising, student transfer/articulation, and career exploration is preferred.
• Computer literacy skills are essential for program record-keeping and federal reporting.
• Individuals with lived experiences as first-generation college students, low-income college students, or students with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Physical Demands
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. occasionally, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide academic and transfer advising, career exploration, and other academic and personal support services to TRIO project scholars.
• Utilize social-emotional intelligence to build strong, supportive relationships with students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Employ problem-solving skills to address and overcome academic and personal challenges faced by students.
• Monitor, track, and report on graduation and transfer rates, developing and implementing retention and transfer strategies.
• Maintain records in compliance with federal regulations, U.S. Department of Education policies, and TRIO grant objectives.
• Actively engage in the implementation of TRIO projects and goals to meet program objectives.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and community resources to support student success.
