Groundskeeper & Custodian
Putnam Museum & Science Center
Help us keep the Putnam Museum & Science Center looking its best—inside and out! We’re looking for a hardworking, team-oriented person who enjoys both outdoor and indoor work, takes pride in their efforts, and is ready to support our mission to preserve, educate and connect people to the wonders of science, culture and history.
What You’ll Do

  • Care for our grounds: weeding, trimming, watering, cleaning walkways and patios, trash removal, snow/ice removal, pressure washing, and upkeep of our Dino Dig exhibit.
  • Keep our spaces sparkling: cleaning restrooms, exhibit areas, and interactive displays, post-lunch cleanup, and helping with event setup and teardown.
What We’re Looking For
  • Positive, adaptable, and ready to work as part of a team.
  • Available at least 25 hours/week (Wednesdays 8:30–5:30, Thursdays 12–8, Fridays 8:30–5:30 preferred) with some nights/weekends.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather (heat, cold, rain, snow).
  • Able to lift 50+ pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
  • Groundskeeping experience is a plus, but we’ll train the right person!
Join us in keeping the museum welcoming and beautiful for our guests year-round!
This is a part-time hourly position with a starting pay rate of $16.00 per hour.
